Winter Break
Christmas Eve Eve Day: Balled it up with Chris, Paul, Harvey Navy Gym: That’s pretty much homecourt. I remember not too long ago when Team Oak Harbor, before there was a Team Oak Harbor, balled it up every night on that court. Good Times.
Christmas Eve: Last Minute Shopping. I know people HATE last minute shopping because of Crowds, Slim Pickings, the such. I love last minute shopping. See the Blog Name. It’s exciting to me running around chasing for gifts; it’s a thrill. By the Way, DS’s are harder to find than PS3’s. TRUTH! I saw Fred Meyer with 2 PS3’s, and they were selling one at Gamestop. I was looking for a DS for my cousin (not Wii). Nowhere in Oak Harbor or Burlington. That was Bananas. Our extended family does a Christmas Eve Party every year since I’ve moved to Oak Harbor. As far as I know, this party has been going on well beyond that as well. I remember going to it when I visited at the age of 8 or so. Tradition lasts.
Christmas Day: Tradition again. We go to our Uncle’s house and the entire extended family eats dinner, hands out all the gifts, and opens them together, usually around 6 p.m.. It’s a longer wait to open up gifts, but it’s a tradition I love. Opening gifts with little kids keeps the little kid heart in you man. I’d say it took over an hour to hand out all the gifts. Over a dozen cousins/family friends will do that.
Tuesday: Ces and I went to the gym to meet with Jerry/Jon/Junior. We were all dressed up ready to do some workouts. The workout became a drive to the NEX. Went back to the Gym that night to lift. Not lifting for a month makes that first lift back SORE.
Wedensday: Determined to run the trail. Ran the trail. 40 minutes, 10 frozen fingers 2 Numb feet, and 1 runny nose later, I finished that trail. The wind was killer, but I had A) Compression Gear and B) Headband to keep on going. I think the folks left in Oak Harbor–Marvin,Tubo,Russ,Curt,Me–went back to Burlington to Wii Hunt. Going 2 for 2 in 2 weeks of blowing it, Russ found out we were 20 minutes too late in getting the last Wii in Gamestop. The problem: I was there an hour earlier, but didn’t bother to ask. DOH. We did watch Pursuit of HappyNess. One of the Top flicks I’ve seen all year.
Thursday: Bowling. I can bowl with under average with both my left and right hands.
Friday: Back to Burlington. I also spent hours fixing this blog so I can republish. I hope you folks like.
Also noteworthy, I visited the Oak Harbor Wal Mart at least 10 times, the Oak Harbor K Mart at least 5 times, and the NEX at least 7 times this week everyday in search of Wii’s. Still Wiiless; but the hunt is worth the fun! I’ll finish out this year with a final top ten. Until then take care folks and Happy Holidays.
